Southern Slaw Relish was created in 2005 when my garden produced more than I ever imagined it would. My pantry and freezer were full and I grew bored with eating the same ol vegetables. My mama suggested to make some chow-chow. Having absolutely no idea what chow-chow was, she and I consulted a cookbook. After making a batch, we decided that it needed a little more of this and a little less of that but the most important thing was to make it the old fashioned way, the way the legendary good cooks of old made it. Honestly, there is no secret recipe, just secrets in the process that copackers don't take the time to do. In 2007, Southern Slaw Relish was approved by the University of GA as safe for consumption and my husband started building my own commercial kitchen. Thank Heaven for good old boys and mine is one of the best! Like any good Southern cook does, all of my products are handmade with love and effort in every jar.
